Pass Amazon KYC Verification on Your First Try

The exact document checklist and video-call prep that stop the most common reasons Amazon freezes new seller accounts.

What a failed submission actually costs you

This isn't a form you can just resubmit tomorrow

  • Your account or new listings stay inactive for the full review cycle — not just a day or two
  • A second rejection doesn't get a faster retry — it often triggers extended review or a temporary hold
  • If you registered for a specific window — Q4, Prime Day, a launch date — you lose that exact window while you wait
  • Every week in review is a week competitors already selling in your category keep the customers you were counting on

01The Four Documents Amazon Verifies

Most rejections trace back to one of these four — not because the document is wrong, but because it doesn’t match everywhere it needs to.

  • Business registration document — certificate of incorporation or business license.Legal business name must match your Seller Central account exactly, including "LLC" / "Inc." and punctuation.
  • Proof of business address — utility bill or government correspondence.Dated within 90 days, full color, and shows your full legal name and address exactly as entered in Seller Central.
  • Government-issued photo ID for the account’s beneficial owner(s).Unexpired, both sides visible, no glare or cropped corners — you'll be asked to show it again on the video call.
  • Bank or card statement — showing the bank’s name/logo and account holder.Amazon accepts these up to 180 days old (wider window than other address proof) — but the account holder name must match your registered business name exactly.

Who counts as the “beneficial owner”

Amazon requires ID for anyone who owns more than 25% of the business. If no single person crosses that threshold, submit the senior managing official instead — typically the CEO, CFO, or managing director. Getting this wrong is a quiet, common cause of delay.
