01The Four Documents Amazon Verifies

Most rejections trace back to one of these four — not because the document is wrong, but because it doesn’t match everywhere it needs to.

Business registration document — certificate of incorporation or business license.Legal business name must match your Seller Central account exactly, including "LLC" / "Inc." and punctuation.
Proof of business address — utility bill or government correspondence.Dated within 90 days, full color, and shows your full legal name and address exactly as entered in Seller Central.
Government-issued photo ID for the account’s beneficial owner(s).Unexpired, both sides visible, no glare or cropped corners — you'll be asked to show it again on the video call.
Bank or card statement — showing the bank’s name/logo and account holder.Amazon accepts these up to 180 days old (wider window than other address proof) — but the account holder name must match your registered business name exactly.

Who counts as the “beneficial owner”

Amazon requires ID for anyone who owns more than 25% of the business. If no single person crosses that threshold, submit the senior managing official instead — typically the CEO, CFO, or managing director. Getting this wrong is a quiet, common cause of delay.

02The Identity Verification Video Call

Many KYC reviews now include a live video call — Amazon calls this Seller Identity Verification (SIV). Skip the prep and it’s the easiest step to fail.

Choose Instant Call (connects in roughly 3–6 minutes) or Scheduled Call (booked 2–7 business days out) if you need time to prepare
Calls typically run 10–20 minutes — block real time, don't squeeze it between meetings
Have the original physical documents in hand — not photos or PDFs on a second screen
Be ready to show both sides of your ID directly to the camera on request

Some calls include a live camera walkthrough of your business premises or inventory — have a location ready, not a coffee shop

03Format Check Before You Upload
